AYSO Region 143

AYSO Region 143 understands the importance of safety for our players, volunteers, and fans. Along with adhering to youth sports guidelines on the local, state and federal levels, Region 143 will implement the following procedures in an effort to help reduce the spread of COVID-19:

If anyone tests positive: a player, coach or anyone who exposes to the team, then those exposed enter into a 10 day quarantine.

  • Hand sanitizer provided before practice and at all water breaks
  • Face coverings recommended to be worn by everyone to and from practice area
  • Coaches to maintain social distance to players during practice
  • Players will use individual equipment; coaches will handle field equipment such as cones, flags, etc.
  • Staggered practice times
  • Only rostered team members may participate in practices (no siblings or other players allowed)
  • Encouraged drop off and pick up from parking lot/street area (age appropriate)
  • No interaction between players from other teams
  • Parents are to do a health screening prior to bringing their players to practice;; any player with a fever of 100.4 or higher, or any other symptoms will not be allowed to practice

  • Hand sanitizer provided at fields
  • Field signage reminding spectators to keep a social distance of 6 feet between household groups
  • Fields spaced no less than 20 yards apart
  • Fan boxes painted to maximize distance between fans and players, spectators are encouraged to sit a minimum of 6 feet from the sideline, and it is recommended that you put 6-feet of distance between yourself and people who don’t live in your household
  • Recommend Assistant Referees wear face coverings during matches due to their proximity to the sidelines
  • Game times to be staggered for smaller crowd size
  • Parents are to do a health screening prior to bringing their players to games; any player with a fever of 100.4 or higher, or any other symptoms will not be allowed to play
  • After games, teams are encouraged to do a cheer, or clap-out, for the opposing team.  Teams will not high-five at the end of games.  Spectators will not form a team tunnel for players.

The Region will keep open and ongoing communication with parents and volunteers regarding these guidelines, expectations, and concerns related to COVID-19. Communication will be via email, our website, social media, and field signage. Additionally, all parents and volunteers will have to sign an acknowledgement of, and agreement to comply with, the Region’s COVID-19 protocols in order to participate in AYSO soccer activities.
